Toward the end of the year my attention to this blog wavered. Nevertheless, it’s been really exciting to start building a community of readers, and I’d like your help to make this blog a lot better this year. Here’s the plan:
First, I’ve tightened up the text on the “About” page. It was clunky, and it bothered me, the blog equivalent of that closet you don’t open anymore.
Second, I’ve updated the podcasts page. Since starting this blog, ClearView’s website has gotten up and running. There’s no need to post the recent sermons both places, so I’m using the podcast page here on God in the Clear almost as a greatest hits album, posting a few of my sermons from recent years that seem to have impacted others the most.
Third, I’d like to reach more people through this site in 2011. Currently, each post is viewed by around 150 people. I’m thrilled that so many of you find my posts worthwhile, but viewing this as a ministry, of course I’d like to reach more. Starting today I’m going to aim to post twice as often as before, a combination of more writing and links to good stuff others are writing.
Here’s where I need your help: whenever I post something that hits you, would you consider sharing it with someone else? At the bottom of each page are buttons that make it really quick to share something via Facebook, email, etc. I would be honored if you would encourage others to read and join in. Speaking of which…
Fourth, I want to encourage more comments. With any blog, it’s usually only 5 – 10% of readers who will write something in reply, but the ones that do better than that create something really special, a safe space for people to explore and be encouraged. So, my part in this is to be more attentive when you do comment. The rest is up to you.
Thanks for your help in making this a gooder…I mean better blog. Can’t do it without you, and I wouldn’t want to. Finally, subscribing is the easiest way to keep up, and I certainly hope you will. Peace.
